With a passion for student well-being and a heart for our community, We provide a safe, nurturing environment where students can navigate the ups and downs of elementary school. Whether it’s through classroom guidance lessons, small group support, or individual check-ins, Mrs. Overman is here to ensure every student feels seen, heard, and supported.

Meet Remi: Our Resident Therapy Dog

We are thrilled to have a very special member on our counseling team! Remi has been a beloved part of the Bridge City Elementary family for several years. Under the expert supervision of Mrs. Overman, Remi works hard to make our school a brighter, calmer place to learn.

What Does Remi Do?

Remi isn't just a friendly face; she has a specific "job description" on campus:

• Emotional Support: Providing a calming presence for students who may be feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or upset.

• Incentive Programs: Serving as a "reward-based incentive" for students who reach their behavioral or academic goals. (Who wouldn't work harder for some Remi time?)

• Bridge to Connection: Helping students open up and feel more comfortable during counseling sessions.

Remi’s Credentials

• AKC Basic Obedience Traning
• AKC Canine Good Citizen Test
• AKC Advanced Obedience Traning
• Passed AKC Dog Handler observation
• Medically cleared by a veterinarian and hypoallergenic
• Remi and Mrs. Overman have been awarded as a certified therapy team under the Alliance of Therapy Dog certification process
