Whether it’s through classroom guidance lessons, small group support, or individual check-ins, Mrs. Overman is here to ensure every student feels seen, heard, and supported.
Meet Remi: Our Resident Therapy Dog
We are thrilled to have a very special member on our counseling team! Remi has been a beloved part of the Bridge City Elementary family for several years. Under the expert supervision of Mrs. Overman, Remi works hard to make our school a brighter, calmer place to learn.
What Does Remi Do?
Remi isn't just a friendly face; she has a specific "job description" on campus:

Emotional Support: Providing a calming presence for students who may be feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or upset.

Incentive Programs: Serving as a "reward-based incentive" for students who reach their behavioral or academic goals. (Who wouldn't work harder for some Remi time?)

Bridge to Connection: Helping students open up and feel more comfortable during counseling sessions.
Remi’s Credentials
- AKC Basic Obedience Traning
- AKC Canine Good Citizen Test
- AKC Advanced Obedience Traning
- Passed AKC Dog Handler observation
- Medically cleared by a veterinarian and hypoallergenic
- Remi and Mrs. Overman have been awarded as a certified therapy team under the Alliance of Therapy Dog certification process
